Once Upon A Time

Derek G

Once upon a time in the Music realm, there was this chick, oh yea that would be me. This chick LOVES making Videos and attaching Music with them. Ever the student and always learning new stuff this chick ran into the RULES of You Tube Enforcers! They say... "Hey Chick! Stop using this Music or we will shut you down!" Very frightened by the Enforcers of Video and Films she runs to her Friend Derek G, and says "Hey D' what should I do." D' says don't sweat it do your own Music and the Enforcers will shut the hell up. The chick then says, but I don't have any keyboards or technical stuff to do Music. The D' ever so cool and never frazzled threw two links at the chick, one for Sony Vegas and another for Reverbnation, and calmly says go for it, if you need help let me know.

Reverbnation

A brand NEW world this chick enters full of NEW adventures after working her way up to Sony Vegas for Films and Video and adding Sony Acid [for Music] to her arsenal of creativity. Ever the helpful person, Derek of Feed The Fire Films, was always there for her to help her with developing her craft if she needed it. At that time the chick set up her profile at Reverbnation, and had lots of questions and lots of doubt. Comfortable with the Music she wrote for Film she was never quite comfortable with a format that shared her Music with the world so to say. She wondered if anyone would understand it or like her Music. She also wondered if anyone would really consider her an actual Musician.

And then she met five major Friends that would help her through this amazing process... All of these Friends are accomplished well disciplined Musicians, who not only helped her on her way but, shared her work with their Friends. These kind Musicians are Mike Heartman who was her very first Friend at Reverbnation, Noise Flower, Zaelon, Ryo Utasato, P Eric Bailey [who co wrote her second version of "Somebody Save Me,"] and the ever sought after Beatmistresscait who promoted the hell our of the chick.

Devotions Recording 2013 Music with Heart

One of the most compelling things about film or video is Music. Without the heart of this artistic form our shows, TV, Motion Pictures, and even our video games would really be a drag. So like I have been going on and on about 2013.... Yes it's that time of year again when we all start to think about the NEW Year. So I decided to hook up with one of my Instructors and get some fresh new looks for Devotions Recording and the other Film Companies who Love Devotions Recording Artists and our Guest. This Ad is for D.R. Devotions Recording will be working with Knight Productions for the Film 2013. I'm not sure where it's gonna go still trying to figure something out for "Concept" so yeah Striking Concept's Jodie will be helping me with that one. We have so much to learn about our WORLD but it really would help Americans to learn about our own Country first. That's always a good start. Learn about your own self before impositions on others. The primary standard Artist for GREAT Soundtrack will be invited for this project, but we might also have some Guest on this project as well. ya never know, i got plenty of time as 2013 isn't even here yet LOL.

MAY OUR FRIENDSHIP NEVER COME APART

In the garden of being alone in ones own thoughts. Where sounds are muffled, and many times the mind is bent, the heart is what needs to be expressed. In these times it really is the stillness that can save folks. The world is faced with a busy effect. This effect affects us all. This Global worry about "can we really get to Peace," compounds our own personal worries with finances, health, and relationships that mean something to us on a personal level. I ran into an email that might help. Thanks Patti for sending it to me because the new Film project is allowing me to look more closely at my health on more levels than one.

As I've aged, I've become kinder to myself, and less critical of  myself. I've become my own friend. Whose business is it if I choose to read or play on the computer  until 4 AM or sleep until noon? I will dance with myself to those wonderful tunes of the 60 &70's, and if I, at the same time, wish to weep over a lost love. I will. I will walk the beach in a swim suit that is stretched over a bulging body, and will dive into the waves with abandon if I choose to, despite the pitying glances from the jet set.

I know I am sometimes forgetful.  But there again, some of life is just as well forgotten. And I eventually remember the important things.

Sure, over the years my heart has been broken. How can your heart not break when you lose a loved one, or when a child suffers, or even when somebody's beloved pet gets hit by a car? But broken hearts are what give us strength and understanding and compassion. A heart never broken is pristine and sterile and will never know the joy of being imperfect.

I am so blessed to have lived long enough to have my hair turning gray, and to have my youthful laughs be forever etched into deep grooves on my face. So many have never laughed, and so many have died before their hair could turn silver.

As you get older, it is easier to be positive. You care less about what other people think. I don't question myself anymore.

I've even earned the right to be wrong.

So, to answer your question, I like being old. It has set me free. I  like the person I have become. I am not going to live forever, but while I am still here, I will not waste time lamenting what could  have been, or worrying about what will be. And I shall eat dessert every single day (if I feel like it).

MAY OUR FRIENDSHIP NEVER COME APART ESPECIALLY WHEN IT'S STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART!

feel free to share with your Friends
Blessings To All Of My Friends

Why Should Fears Be Faced

Face of Fear's Film Still
With everything we all go through there appears to be a repetition in exactly what we go through. Hidden childhood memories tend to cause a cataclysmic cascade of effects on adult living. So just what is this "Face of Fear" that Shade wrote about in her Music???? Well I will tell you. It is a child that cries out from the wilderness within ones own heart... they cry for Hope, a child who wishes to end the pain of life but does not know how, a child who deeply wishes for Peace and most of all Love. Life with its series of ups and downs presents us an array of unsettling experiences and until we face our fears not much can be done about changing the repercussions of life. We all have chances to become our very best, we are given with each day, new opportunities, and we can choose this instead of what the lost within us chooses..... Fear. A Child lost is a Child who deserves so much better in life than the scorn from from its own self. As I walk through my own valley of loosing my Label, economic changes, and still working to create the very best for our Readers and Supporters, this song encourages me and I hope it will encourage you.

You can see the [OFFICIAL VIDEO AD] at Striking Concept Films-Video right here on Blogger. To purchase "Face of Fear" you can go to Shade's Profile at Reverbnation and click on that cute note on her Profile under her Songs :0) feel free to become a Fan and check out our other Artists as well. Many thanks for ALL of your kind support of not only me but the other Artists represented here at the Blog. Special thanks to Jerry Banberger and Katie and James Fairchild. And many thanks to The Heretic- Snordelhans, who originally inspired me with this incredible visual of Fear in the artwork's child's face.

Blanket the World With Love

The third and final production with Nancy B and myself is now complete. I would like to write about what keeps love going when your world seems to be falling apart. You see yesterday wasn't a good day. After the Government decided to take out $300.00 from my social security to pay for Medicare well I had to shut down the label at Reverbnation.Ahhhhh but I am no idiot, this is exactly why I backlinked to these fine Artists Profiles at Reverbnation and very little to the Label itself.

Face it Love is just weird sometimes. A lot is required to get up everyday and continue this silent work. This visual array. This emotional roller coaster of succeeding and maybe not succeeding can be draining. Ahhhhhh but when one does tap into the one-ness of the Love that keeps Art going no matter what.... then Friendships arrive at what they should be. Countries will arrive at responsible leaders. And the real starvation of the soul will end.

This Journey started with a song.... "Gun Cocked and Loaded." which then fell into "Steps in Preventing Suicide" [part1] I was a bit unhinged when the air conditioning went out and then right in the middle of "Beyond The Wave" [part2] my Pay-Pal and Chase were attacked. Yet the work gets done, is it Love???? Yes it is. Almost at the end of "Blanket the World With Love" [part3] the Gov plays games with my money.  Does it hurt to shut down part of your heart, you bet it does, closing Devotions Recording at Reverbnation really hurt. But Love will carry me out of this. Yesterday I received a really cool gift from Noise Flower... a song written for me. I think she actually caught my soul, you see I am one of the few that can actually live in utter darkness and still find beauty in it.  That's what the Flower caught. I want to thank everyone who has stood with me during these dark times. Because it won't be dark for much longer, not with this heart, and not with this mind's vision.

BLESSINGS AND THANK YOU ALL

The life span of a golf ball - What Would It Feel Like If

ZAELON
By: ZAELON

There are times when Shade is doing a lot behind the scene, she's in the process of healing from heatstroke and dealing with some financial issues that a "key logger" caused to her Pay-Pal and CHASE accounts, so she asked me to write some humorous stuff..... I like writing these interesting antidotes about inanimate objects and other  "what would it fell like if...?"  What can I say, this is the best Label to be with, and I will do what I can do to help our Founder. Sooooo, As promised, the golf ball story, enjoy.

Help

I'm round, I sit nice and quiet in a box, then I get picked up and put on top of something, then I get struck with something which sends me through the air at terrific speed, I land and then roll along for a while, then I get hit again and land in a hole. What am I?

I'll save you

I'm a bloody golf ball, who sits in a box nice and quiet, doing no harm to anyone, then some neanderthal comes along, puts me on what is called a tee and beats my brains in with a club, I then travel 2,3,400 yards at high speed with my skull crushed, landing with a jolt and rolling a few yards getting dizzy and sick, then I get a headache when I'm hit again with another club, just to land in a hole full of water, where I drown.

Grrrr Must Win!

Tell me what harm did I ever do to you ham-fisted golfers.

I sit nice and quiet in a nice warm box, doing no harm to anyone and you lot come along and beat the living shit out of me, then drown me to death.
All in the name of golf........why?
PS: I've put it through spell check, just in case Cait reads it lol

Major depressive disorder

Depression may be described as feeling sad, blue, unhappy, miserable, or down in the dumps. Most of us feel this way at one time or another for short periods.

True clinical depression is a mood disorder in which feelings of sadness, loss, anger, or frustration interfere with everyday life for weeks or longer.

Symptoms

Depression can change or distort the way you see yourself, your life, and those around you. People who have depression usually see everything with a more negative attitude. They cannot imagine that any problem or situation can be solved in a positive way. Symptoms of depression can include:
  • Agitation, restlessness, and irritability
  • Becoming withdrawn or isolated
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Dramatic change in appetite, often with weight gain or loss
  • Fatigue and lack of energy
  • Feelings of hopelessness and helplessness
  • Feelings of worthlessness, self-hate, and guilt
  • Loss of interest or pleasure in activities that were once enjoyed
  • Thoughts of death or suicide
  • Trouble sleeping or too much sleeping
Depression can appear as anger and discouragement, rather than feelings of sadness. If depression is very severe, there may also be psychotic symptoms, such as hallucinations and delusions. Depression is difficult to live with especially when one feels isolated, having dealt with depression for years myself, Music and Films have been my sole retreat and my best friend many times. One of the works that's in the hopper is a Film called "Preventing Suicide" from Knight Productions, the song below will be part of it's score for the short Film. It will take me a bit to get that one out, so bear with me I'm not in the best of moods so to say. For now here is the Song "Gun Cocked and Loaded."

Beatmistresscait the Personification of Perfect Sound

Beatmistresscait is one of the most prolific Artist on the Devotions Recording Label, with over 200 songs she consistently puts out stunning Soundtrack-Dance and Jazz  work. Cait is a sheer inspiration to Striking Concept Films and Knight Productions - Social Concerns Films. Her perfect Sounds come from her studio in Ireland and her Production base is Ableton. With a huge Sound Library Beatmistresscait traverses through her Ableton,  to consistently and professionally mix her world of perfect pitch, sound, and music. When Striking Concept Films-Video reaches out to other high level Independent Film Makers like FEED THE FIRE FILMS or The Heretic- Snordelhans to ask them to share their footage clips, we want only the best Music and Production of that Music to lead the story in our Short Films. There is so much going on in the world today, that even Striking Concept Films-Video is concerned. Jodie and I took a break from making advertising Videos for Devotions Recording and decided to share this Short Film with Beatmistresscait's song entitled:

"Nobody Wants to Trip Anymore" You see, that's the problem with the world, folks are trippin. Truth be said, it's nothin but a power grab, where the rich get richer and the poor get more poor. It's the height of the hate ball getting bigger instead of smaller, the height of greed gone mad, and the height of divisiveness going so out of control that Love is having a hard time revealing itself. Now is the time for folks to wake up, wake up and let Love take over before we all loose ourselves completely along with everything we Cherish and hold dear to our hearts... You can hear "Nobody Wants to Trip Anymore" and see the Short Film at Striking Concept's Blog.

For now check this out by: Beatmistresscait.

Ryo Utasato and Shade Law The Magic Behind Their Album

Ryo’s Home Studio is a perfect balance between technical and actual instrumentation. While Shade remains high tech in programming with Native Instruments, Sony Acid 5, and Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD. Both Artists however, do come together in harmony with Shade’s intensity and Ryo’s depth of soul; they end up making a fantastic Soundtrack collaboration.  In their own individual rights, they both are consummate professionals and hail from the Motion Picture Industry.

Ryo Utasato is a composer, singer and writer. Ryo began listening to the music of her father's classical guitar, and her mother's folk singing along with the samisen from the age of 3. Her grandfather is half Japanese Ainu and at the age of 14 Ryo started singing in a rock band and by 18 she was singing professionally with a foreign artist and appearing on Japanese TV. At 28 her career expanded to include composing music for film and television, such as the theme for World Heritage, and others. Her original soundtracks have been used in sci-fi, historical, drama, horror and action films & TV. As a singer, her style is best identified with world music, ethnic singing, and ancient singing of Japan, healing new age, pop and rock. She respects the history and culture of all races on this earth which is deeply expressed in her music.

Shade Law is brand new to the Internet Music scene; she basically started to write Music because of You Tube's rules and regulations about Music with Video. Not really understanding why certain Music could not be used.... a good friend of hers suggested that she writes her own. Hence Shade started her own adventure at Reverbnation with her trusted band members, "MAGIX16 AND ACID5, "Cakewalk," Samplitude Silver Soundcloud Edition, and Native Instruments, just joined her team of technology. Shade now enjoys her own Music with the Films and Videos she creates with her Film-Video Partner at Striking Concept Films-Video and her own Film Company Knight Productions [a Social Concern Film Company,] as well. Anything to not get into trouble at You Tube LOL.

Now, being retired from Warner Brothers Studios… Shade focuses on not only writing music through technology but once she started Devotions Recording; Shade now wishes to enhance her Artists through Film and Videos. Ever mindful of what works in Film [which is her Labels chief concern] she presses ever forward to hit that pentacle of quality which could open the doors to Games and Films. “If you can make it in Film, you can make it anywhere,” is what her old Teacher and Boss Larry Lashanski always taught her, and her mind cannot be shifted from that lesson. Film is the pentacle; all other modems are just that, other avenues. Because the standard of Gaming is now equal to Films [because of Adobe After Effects] it is a Market that she studies for the potential of her Artists and herself to enter.

Ryo and Shade met at Reverbnation and started a deep friendship as they enjoyed each others work, Shade asked Ryo if she could do a Video for one of her works, and from there they began to work on "East Meets West," it was Ryo who then suggested after the completion of the song "East Meets West" that they do an entire Album. Hence "East Meets West the Album" came about. Produced at two ends of the World LUNE Muzik.JP where Ryo resides and Devotions Recording in the US where Shade resides. Two worlds, many experiences, enjoy “East Meets West theAlbum." "Thank You For Your Kind Support and Purchase of our Digital Download."

LOOK OUT HUMOR IS RUNNING RAMPANT WITH OLD FOLKS

Devotions Recording Admins and I are not just all work and no play, and least not me... I do a lot of PR, Film, and Music work, and my close Friend Patti keeps me in humor when all else fails to get me to take breaks. Breaks that require being away from what I am doing now. Blogging, which is one more tool to help my Artists grow and my Readers understand more about the hearts of Artists. Mmmmmm I might be getting to old for this...  anywayyyyyy I digressed.

Patti and I are close in age so this of course made both of us roll on the floor. YEP I for sure LMAO and almost peed myself! It got me to thinking though, how much we take ourselves too seriously in our work. It becomes too technical and then winds up becoming lack luster to say the least. So for the Tip Of The Day I suggest, do the last thing on the chore list and get offline. I mean really folks stay on line all day [and night] something might be a bit wrong with that.... Six hour Events, chatting with their friends, or building stuff [like WebSites, Blogs, Reviews, or Sales Tickets]. The Internet is a great tool folks, but really let's not overdue it, or we just might forget who WE really are. Get a good nights rest older Ladies... all is well with your Grand-kids. Blessings and have a Great weekend!

P Eric Bailey Producer – Engineer – Musician - Friend

Classical / Alternative / New Age… P. Eric Bailey primarily produces music for the film industry. He dose however, collaborate with his musical friends from around the world at Reverbnation. On occasion P. Eric Bailey will post these collaborations on his Profile at Reverbnation. He his contributed to my song “Someone Save Me” with a live Orchestra of which he conducted, he has  and still does work with BillyD in engineering his work, and continues to work with Artists around the world because to Phill, “Music is the great peacemaker in the world.” Music crosses all barriers, races, religions, and if you let the Music move through your heart... all political and social concerns.

A humble man P. Eric Bailey makes no pretenses or puts on any sort of airs. This gentle soul has but one heart, and it is for a world that needs more Love instead of what is being presented.  He communicates best with this Love through his dynamic presentation of Music. His newest Album “Caught in The Milky Way” takes you on a journey of what could be, if Peace were the method of operation instead of being…. “Addicted To Lies.” We all have a passion that is never addressed; many of us are doing what is contrary to what we really desire deeply to do. We have become addicted to our own lies, let alone the lies we might tell each other to feel better about ourselves. In his Album “Caught in The Milky Way” he and Billy D collaborate on a song called “How I Feel…” and that’s what “Caught in The Milky Way” is really about… feelings and getting back to ones own inner feelings. Can you let go of the past? Move toward a future? Start Over? If you need encouragement than P. Eric Bailey’s Album and his Music in general is definitely what you’re looking for.

P. Eric Bailey also worked on the “Timeless” project where 7 of us came together to blend textures for an Album of the world for the world.

DevotionsRecording is so deeply grateful that this man, this professional, this dear Friend has come aboard my little adventure. And I am also grateful that he took me under his wing and educated me right before I participated in The First IndieChannel Music competition of 2012. The Song “Fire” and “Judgment By Shade Law spoken By Snordelhans” was scored, balanced, engineered correctly enough for me to be Nominated for both.

Judgment” was the Video is nominated for Best Video under $5000.00 and “Fire” for best Soundtrack. I would like to add that Derekof Feed The Fire Films has secured my foundation with Video-Film work with my program Sony “Vegas Movie Studio HD” enough for me to brave these new waters. I am completely kissed by God with good quality Friends as the ones I have at Devotions Recording. So, go visit P. Eric Bailey, you owe yourself a wonderful experience. For now listen and relax.

Why is that darn Knight Productions4 Social Concern Films so Picky

I think Dave "Zaelon"says it best... "What a powerful film, check it out, listen to the music tracks and "Watch" the sections of the film for each track, you will be surprised with the visualization and your own thoughts."

Founded by Shade Law about a year ago, Knight Productions4 Film is a condensed version of the "Reverse NLP" series from her You Tube "Laws Of Expression" and "X~Ray Your Soul~1." It is more structured and more detailed with a variety of Musicians that play for a Knight Production Film. All Devotions Recording Artists that pass a standard of Music wind up in a Knight Production4 Film. The Music must pass several standards, A) it must be a SOUNDTRACK. B) the PRODUCTION QUALITY must be excellent. and C) Music CONTINUITY must fit the Film's continuity and or CONCEPT. Very few make it past these standards, what may pass a Striking Concept Film won't necessarily pass a Knight Production4 Film's need. The viewers must feel comfortable in "watching" what could be a poignant scene that helps them break free from the forced programing that does occur from the Internet to TV. Hence the "Reversal" of... "Neuro Linguistic Programing" or commonly known as "NLP" cannot take place if the project sounds or looks like all the rest out their.

Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) is an approach to communication, personal development, and psychotherapy created in the 1970s. The title refers to a stated connection between the neurological processes ("neuro"), language ("linguistic"), and behavioral patterns that have been learned through experience ("programming") and can be organized to achieve specific goals in life.[1][2] According to certain neuroscientists,[3] psychologists,[4][5] and linguists,[6][7] NLP is unsupported by current scientific evidence, and uses incorrect and misleading terms and concepts.

We are being mislead daily, even by the Music by what the corporate world 'thinks' you should listen to. Advertising is very sophisticated and is designed to control the masses to what 'they' would like you to purchase.  From Film, to Music, to what arguments you take up, to the soap you use for your hair... you better believe there is a team of Advertisers behind the product. That is Neuro-linguistic programming and the only way to "reverse" NLP is to do the opposite of what "they" want you to do, be, or say... Hence "Independent Music-Film-Videos." Note: no tits and ass are in my Films unless it makes logical sense. Note: all Music is a class act and follows scene progression. Note: each film cut makes sense to the deeper part of a person's humanity, not just the "primal instinct" or "fear factor," that Politics and Religion generally stir up to gain advantages over folks or worse yet control the populace. Note: film should make a person "STOP and THINK" for themselves, not just follow the herd off the darn cliff.

So,  "Why is that darn Knight Productions4 Social Concern Films so Picky?" Maybe it's because I care that folks do not lose anymore of themselves than they already have. And maybe it's because what you watch as a standard you tend to follow a higher and better standard if it goes beyond the need to control the masses and actually give something helpful to the masses. Thank you Feed the Fire Films, SENTIENTMIND, The Heretic, and BBC. So here is that Film that Dave was talking about. Featured work in the Film By: Beatmistresscait, Andrew Skelton, Ryo Utasato, Noise Flower, Zaelon, Shade Law all from Devotions Recording.

Thanks for your kind support, feel free to visit our Artists and see their own projects that they are working on independently from the Label. Feel free to watch any of Knight Productions4 at You Tube and subscribe if you are so inclined. And feel free to check out FEED THE FIRE FILMS, SENTIENTMIND, AND The Heretic-Snordelhans.

Shade Law Founder of a Bunch of Stuff

I started at Reverbnation from one question to a teacher that I still work with today.... the question was.... "HOW THE HECK DO I STOP GETTING THOSE NOTES FROM YOU TUBE ABOUT MUSIC USED???!!!!" In all seriousness this was becoming annoying to the creative process of making Short Films and Videos. You see, I retired from Warner Brothers in Burbank quite a few years back, and always from childhood loved Films and their Soundtracks. I figured since I am retired, why not give it a thrill on the Internet and see what comes of it. His answer was simple at the time to my frustrated question... "Make Your Own Music," and he gave me a link to this "Reverbnation" place and a link to "Sony Acid" which is a Music Program Site and also now is the home Site to all of my High Tech Film Programs.

Lovely I thought "what am I going to do with this stuff? Well, being relatively creative in thinking, I could see how this would stop the annoying notes from You Tube who I really like, and didn't want them to toss me out behind copyright infringements. I began my daunting study with Derek of Feed The Fire Films and others [notably P. Eric Bailey Cinematic Music Producer], to try to fit the pieces together. I knew I had a grasp of what my Business Partner of Striking Concept Films-Video [Jodie P. Floss] taught me about Web Design and Conceptual presentation, and I had a grasp of what Susan Peck taught me about strong back linking and SEO.... But this! This was quite different. This was an exposure of my deeper sense of my being and heart. This was Music, and there is no hiding from emotions here. No BS if one goes deep enough into the textures of sound and what invokes those textures.

Well I was a year into Reverbnation and I was spurred on to ask my Friends their to join with me at Devotions Recording. I really didn't think they would say YES. Really I didn't, I expected to shut down Striking Concept-Devotions Recording within a week from no response. But within Minutes four showed up and not just any four The TOP in their filed of Music. Mike Heartman, Noise Flower, Beatmistresscait and Ryo Utasato showed up. Well that restarted my journey Big Time, every since then I have created more of a presence (that I can create) for my Artists-Friends and myself. These creations from Music to Short Films to Videos even to [Official Commercials] has all been to promote the very BEST in Music and Film.  The very BEST of what I Love created from Love. Enjoy it all feel free to Subscribe to this Blog, Follow the Artists here at their Reverbnation Sites, purchase anything you enjoy, download anything that is Free from the Artists here, and have FUN! Most of all "do what you Love and everything else is gravy."
